Papers, 1839-1848. [microform].

The papers of Silas Jenison consist of 3 boxes of material, chronologically arranged, focusing primarily on Jenison's role as Governor and as judge of the Probate Court. There are some papers relating to Jenison's business interests and non-government activities (Norwich University and the Addison County Agricultural Society, especially). The collection includes an interesting letter from F.W. Hopkins to Jenison, which describes the Bennington and Windham County Whig convention held at Stratton Mountain on July 8, 1840. Daniel Webster was the convention's featured speaker.
